Description

About the Craft:: The craft of reversible wool durries (flat weave rug or mat). The characteristic design and colours of these durries are an expression of surrounding villages and were created by craftsmen and with the help of designers. About the Artisan: Jawaja Weavers Association (JWA) is located in the Jawaja block of Ajmer District in Rajasthan. It was in 1976 during the Rural University initiative conducted by IIM and NID. The weavers are a small group of people weaving all from scratch. They procure very crude forms of raw materials and then do all the processes to churn out a beautiful weave.
