About Artisan: Vankar Mukesh Narayan is a traditional bhujodi weaver from Bhuj, Kutch. He is working with over 30 weavers where 50% are women. They weave stoles, sarees, dupatta, kala cotton products, bedsheets, and support their craft.
About Craft: Tie-dye technique involves dyeing a fabric that is tied tightly with a thread at several points, thus producing a variety of patterns. These shawls are handwoven in the Kutch region of Gujarat. The weavers use embroidery, mirrors and tassels for embellishment.
