About the artisan:?Jasir Arfat is a master craftsman in Tilla work with over thirty-five years of experience from Gandharbal, Kashmir. He took over his father’s traditional enterprise and founded Craftick in 2014. They are supporting over 60 artisans, 40 women and 20 men practising the craft.

About the Craft: Tilla Embroidery is one of the most celebrated Kashmiri handicrafts. Tilla (another name for zari) is done with the help of silver or gold-colored metal threads. Traditionally the embroidery work was done on pherans, but today new product range like suits, shawls, clutches, jutis and masks are also made.
