About Artisan: Prabhat Kanji Vankar is a master weaver and has been awarded with a National Award in Handloom weaving in 1994. His family has been practising the craft form of Kutch weaving for generations. He has more than 30 years of experience in this field. His family along with 25 other artisan families work out of Bhuj, Gujarat. Together they make beautiful handspun, naturally dyed textiles.
About Craft: Desi oon is handspun Indian sheep wool. It is naturally dyed first and then woven with traditional Kutchi motifs and is processed on handlooms largely in Bhuj, Gujarat.
