About the Artisan : Kritenya is a New Delhi based company that designs products like bags, stoles, dupattas, cushion covers, runners etc using fabrics and textile traditions of Assam and the north east of India. They source textiles directly from the women home weavers of Assam, who otherwise don’t have proper marketing channels. The stitching work is also done by women who work from home. They use fabrics such as cotton, Eri silk, Muga silk, linen and wool. For linen and wool fabrics they collaborate with different weavers and NGOs.
