About the Artisan:Zahoor Ahmed used to watch his father making beautiful embroidered textiles from Kashmir and just by watching that he learnt the art of embroidery. Started as a small family business, there are over 70 artisans working for him with over 50 women embroiders. Together they make beautiful textiles using Ari, Papier Mache and Sozni embroidery.

About the Craft: Sozni (also known as Sozan Kaari) is?a popular needle point embroidery technique from Kashmir valley in Northern India. Kashmiri artisans have been practicing Sozni embroidery since almost 500 years ago. Zahoor set out to embellish and adorn every day with ornamental designs using an array of different stitches, thread, and different types of colours.
