About the Craft and Artisan : : Based in New Delhi Kritenya is a project that designs a wide range of accessories using fabrics and textile traditions of Assam and the north east of India. Textiles are sourced directly from the women home weavers of Assam, who otherwise don’t have access to mainstream marketing channels. In this process, Kritenya engages and creates livelihood opportunities for several home-based weavers. Fabrics such as cotton, Eri silk, Muga silk, linen and wool are procured from the weavers and are also stitched by these women into products such as bags, stoles, dupattas, cushion covers, runners etc.
