About Organization: 35-year-old, Sandeep Praveen has always had a passion for handicrafts despite not coming from a traditional block printing family. He spent 12 years working for a block printing company to learn the craft before starting his own business, Sai Creations, in Bommanahalli, Bangalore, seven years ago. The product range solely includes curtains and bedsheets. Praveen’s commitment to preserving traditional techniques while producing innovative designs is commendable and serves as an inspiration to the artisan community while other traditional artisans are switching to other profiles.

About Craft: Block printing is an old printing method involving wooden blocks with raised printing surfaces. These elevated parts are then covered with printing paste and the block is pressed on the fabric. The transferred dye is then fixed on the fabric through appropriate methods.
