About the Craft and Artisan: National award-winning Madhubani artist Chandra Bhushan Kumar from Rashidpur, Madhubani, Bihar, learned the art of painting from his mother and elder brother from a young age. After his mother’s death when he was 12, Kumar started painting full time and had to drop his education to provide for his family. Over the years he has won several national and international awards for his beautiful paintings including the National Award (Handicraft) in 2003.
