Description

About the Craft ::Pichwai is a form of art that originated over 400 years ago in the temple town of Nathdwara near Udaipur in Rajasthan. The word pichwai, literally translates to that which hangs at the back and refers to a unique form of pictorial textiles made specifically for use as backdrops in the shrines of Shrinathji.
Pichwai art is now found in temples of the region and is purchased by art connoisseurs and devotees for display in their homes and home temples. About the Artist Sushil Soni learnt how to paint from his father at the age of 10. He continued his art education in college and graduated in drawing and painting from Nathdwara college.
