About Artisan: Mr. Fida Hussain Khan founded Chinar Valley in 1990 in Srinagar.Hussain family comes from a tradition of Papier Mache Craft. They have been doing this craft form for generations and that is how come Fida Hussain started learning it from a very young age. Out of 3 brothers, 2 started doing Papier Mache. After completing his education till 10th grade, in 2001 Fida registered Chinar Valley a firm. He owes everything to his family, and they’ve helped each other out at every step. They have 30 people working with them (8 are women, 2 are disabled). Papier Mache items adorned with beautifully and intricately painted motifs and designs.
