About the Craft : Tangaliya is a traditional handwoven textile craft from Gujarat, known for its distinctive raised dot patterns (called danas) woven directly into the fabric. Created using an intricate extra-weft technique, these textured motifs are formed on the loom without embroidery. Traditionally woven by the Dangasia community, Tangaliya textiles reflect deep cultural symbolism and exceptional craftsmanship, and are now reimagined in contemporary forms such as shawls, dupattas, and sarees.
