About the Craft: Narotam Handloom Industry was founded in 1996 by Shri Narotam Ram Ji of Village Takoli, Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. It started with a group of 10 people and today 200 artisans are involved with the organization. They make Kullu shawls and stoles from locally sourced sheep and yak wool. 
  • About Craft:Kullu shawls are known for their plain body in basic weaves bordered with bold, colourful patterns. These products have thick pattu/lois or the narrow colourful borders, 'patti'. For Kullu weavers, their designs are set in their minds. They follow no pre-planned patterns on graph paper or even rough sketches.
